40 Yard Dash Training Tip

If you are trying to lower your 40 yard dash time, you probably want to start focusing on your acceleration. The acceleration off the start is often the first area where athletes need practice. Having the proper acceleration angle along with the proper arm action will allow you to gain more speed earlier in the 40 yard dash.

One drill I like to use is the wall drill. Be sure to perform this exercise with the feet back and drive the knees to the chest. Maintain a 45 degree angle through your torso, hips and legs. Watch this video below of the drill performed at my training facility by Lorenzo Booker of the Philadelphia Eagles.
