NFL Combine Test Technique

If you are one of those athletes out there that think there is not much science to performing the combine tests and think you can head out there and just wing it, you are selling yourself short.
With that being said I had an very inspiring e-mail yesterday from one of my client's parents who attended a high school Addidas Combine. Here goes:
Hi Mike,
Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know how matt did. Amazingly, he increased his vertical by 7 inches since the last camp due to your new technique. He had a 35inch vertical, benched 12 reps at 185, did the shuttle in 4.2 and the 40 in 4.6. This was the electronic sensor start and sensor stop so the times were running slower than they would have normally been, as you said. His shuttle was fabulous.
At least 6 college coaches from the camp complimented him and commented that he had the best shuttle technique they had seen at ANY of the high school combine camps. If he doesn't have THE fastest shuttle time out of the 300 kids that were invited to this camp, it'll definitely be in the top 5. Thank you sooooo much. I was already getting about 2 dozen coaches asking me where he wants to go to college, where he's from, GPA, SAT score, etc......Matt's so determined to play college football and your help has been invaluable. We'll keep you up to date as to how he does at the Nike Recruiting camp on May 20th. Again thank you and have a great day!
Ms. K
So there you go. All this in two hours teaching young Matt some of the technique instruction that is in my Pro Combine Preparation Manual. Imagine what you can do with having this resource in your hands to constantly refer to.

NFL Combine Performance Assessments

NFL Combine Performance Assessments

With the NFL Combine in almost over I have had a chance to watch a lot of footage of guys testing out in the various combine tests.

This year I this is what my assessments are thus far:

Shoe Selection: with the new Field Turf surface in the RCA Dome I have seen many players wearing the wrong footwear during the 40 yard dash. To know what shoes you need for each type of field surface for the 40 yard dash click here: http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=421

Agility Test Technique: I have been appalled with the lack of technique on the agiity tests.
Athletes are taking far too many steps on the agility tests and adding valuable tenths of seconds to their times. To learn how to perform the agility tests properly click here: http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=216

Poor Arm action when running: Arm action for the most part has been sloppy with athletes not using efficient technique. To learn how to move your arms for the 40 click here: http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=421

Lack of flexibility: Many athletes especially the wide receivers looked tight and popped up right off the start of their 40 yard dash. Usually this is a sign of inflexibility specifically in the hip and hamstrings.

If you would like to take your combine preparations to the ultimate level, I suggest you check out my Secrets of Combine Training http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=426 and my Pro Combine Preparation Manual http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=216 these manuals will give you the training and technique instruction you need to blow the scouts away at your combine.

I am in the process of watching more film on the NFL Combine. I will keep you updated on what I see and how it can help you improve.

Anderson Follows Addai's Lead at NFL Combine

After Joseph Addai's memorable NFL Combine Performance on Saturday, it was time for Alabama's Mark Anderson to take to the turf today in Indy. Mark did not disappoint.
Anderson lead his group (Group 8) with a 40 yard dash time of 4.61 sec., he lead his group and all defensive linemen with a huge vertical jump of 42', also led all DL with a 10' 7' Broad Jump. He took top in the three cone drill with a 6.95 sec. time and placed second in the short shuttle (4.22 sec.). Overall it was a dominating performance by Anderson.

He followed Addai's lead after his perfomance Saturday after clocking a 4.37 sec 40 yard dash. Anderson was even more confident after hearing of Addai's results.

What is turning even more heads is that each of these athlete trained here at PCT under my direction. They followed my direction adn my techniques and it payed off.

All of this technique instruction in my Pro Combine Preparation Manual
(http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=216) you can have a eye popping performance like Joseph had. Plain and simple.

It will give you the tips that Mark and Joseph used to set himself apart at the NFL Combine.

Addai Rules NFL Scouting Combine

Addai Rules NFL Scouting Combine

Saturday was his day. After 6 long weeks training he was ready to show the NFL who’s who what he could do. And that he did…

ESPN Reported this morning the following headline "Addai and Winston increase draft status at NFL Combine".

LSU running back Joseph Addai made a statement yesterday on the new Field Turf in the RCA Dome. Many questioned how fast the surface would be, that was no obstacle for Joseph Addai. After all he had something to prove. His first 40 was a cautious 4.41 sec. 40 yard dash. He executed a great start and accelerated through the finish. But there was more…
On his second 40 he threw down, blistering a 4.37 40 yard which was later recognized as the fastest running back time at the combine. The six weeks he trained with me was worth it. He also had a first place scores for running backs with a vertical jump of 38.5 inches and a huge broad jump of 10’5".

How did he do it?

After the testing I had a chance to meet up with him talk. He said that the all the techniques I taught him made the difference. He said he was so confident that if he worked the technique and combined with his athletic ability, he would perform the best.
You see with the technique instruction in my Pro Combine Preparation Manual
(http://www.procombinetraining.com/h/m2/default.asp?lang=&nCategory=216) you can have a eye popping performance like Joseph had. Plain and simple.
It will give you the tips that Joseph used to set himself apart at the NFL Combine.
